Greene County had its cross-country runners on the bus and leaving Jefferson Tuesday for the Lincoln Valley Golf Course and the West Marshall Coed Meet just east of State Center. Then the call came that the meet had been cancelled due to thunderstorms, which came as no surprise to the Rams because rain and storms had been going on since the wee hours of Tuesday and extended to when they got on the bus.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s Rams won’t have to wait long for the next meet, which is tomorrow in Story City hosted by Roland-Story. The Norsemen Invitational is held on the golf course south of the high school.

The Greene County boys have been been consistent so far this season with junior and 2022 State Meet Qualifier Noah Hinote in the top spot on the team, followed by freshman Brady Christensen, junior Gavyn Winters, sophomore Carter Hinote, and senior Kolby Angell.

The Greene County girls don’t have the minimum five girls out to qualify for a team score.
