Panorama made an impressive debut of their new race course on Thursday, September 14, and their performance on the track was just as noteworthy. In only their second race of the year, following their August debut, the Panther runners showed significant improvement, with some athletes shaving off as much as 2 minutes from their initial meet, according to Head Coach Greg Thompson.

Despite competing against larger schools with ranked individuals on their teams, the Panther runners remained unfazed, thanks to their commitment to individualization practices. This approach paid off, with standout performances that demonstrated their determination and skill.

One notable achievement came from Kylie Rochholz, who secured an impressive 4th place overall on the girls’ side, surpassing several ranked individuals. Laicey Lutz secured the 17th position, while Mary Fett finished 22nd. On the boys’ side, Noah Poldberg clinched the 24th spot.

Panther runner times:
  • Jamie Fronapfel ran 26:01
  • Avery Bahrenfuss ran 26:56
  • Ella Carico ran 30:48
  • Zach Hayden ran 24:00

Overall, the Panther runners delivered a remarkable performance against their visiting competitors while hosting their very first meet on their new course right on school grounds.

The next challenge for the Panthers’ cross-country teams is the West Central Conference Meet scheduled for October 12. This meet promises to be a competitive one, featuring 12 girls’ teams and 11 boys’ teams. The Panthers will be fielding teams in various categories, including JH boys, JH girls, HS boys, and HS girls, as they continue to demonstrate their dedication and determination on the cross-country circuit.
