Monday, September 18th
12:35am: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, William Joseph Weis of Council Bluffs was placed under arrest for “Driving While License Barred” and “Violation of Financial Liability Coverage”
2:31am: The Cobble Stone Inn requested an Officer for a guest making excessive noise. The Officer spoke with the guest. The guest corrected the issue.
8:22am: An anonymous caller requested extra patrol in the 1000 block of West Adam Street due to increased activity at night in the area.
11:47am: Daniel Cunningham reported having found toilet paper in his yard relating to juveniles out the night before. He requested the Police Department work to end the activity.
2:28pm: Ryan Moranville reported a careless or distracted driver southbound on Elm Street approaching Jefferson. The Officer located the silver truck and observed its driving. The Officer observed no violations of the law.
5:23pm: An Officer was dispatched to People’s Bank for an ATM alarm activation. The Officer found the alarm activation was accidental.
6:02pm: Jill Hankel reported a person going door to door selling cleaning supplies. The Officer located the male and advised them they would need a permit from the city to conduct sales in Jefferson.
7:03pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Cedar Street and Lincoln Way. As a result of the traffic stop, Alex Starrett of West Des Moines was issued a citation for “Fail to have a Valid License While Operating Motor Vehicle”
8:44pm: Mae Davis reported a mattress in the roadway in the 900 block of East Lincoln Way. The Officer assisted in removing the obstruction from the roadway.
10:35pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of West Lincoln Way and Lincoln Place. As a result of the traffic stop, Drew Wolterman of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Violation of Conditions of Minors School License”
11:04pm: An Officer was dispatched to Syngenta Seed, 300 American Avenue for an alarm activation. The Officer checked the property and did not find the reason for the alarm activation.
