The Office of Auditor of State Rob Sand recently released results for the audit of the Lake Panorama Rural Improvement Zone (RIZ).

Receipts for the year ending June 30, 2023 totaled $3,728,003, which was a 12.5-percent increase from the previous year, while disbursements for the same period totaled $3,794,272, decreasing 6.5-percent from the previous year. Sand’s office explains that the increase in receipts is due to an increased tax increment financing, while the decrease in disbursements stems from less land acquisitions and decreased dredging disbursements.

In the report on audit findings, it was also noted that there were no findings related to receipt and disbursement of taxpayer funds from the Lake Panorama RIZ. A copy of the audit report can be found on the Auditor of State’s website, at https://www.auditor.iowa.gov/reports/audit-reports.
