Friday, September 15th

6:34am: Colby Aspengren reported a deer in the roadway in the 1200 block of South Elm Street. The Officer removed the deer from the roadway and it was later disposed of by the Jefferson Public Works Department.

7:02am: Becky Freeman reported a suspected scam phone call she had received on September 14, 2023. The caller was requesting social security information. No information was provided.

11:15am: Robert McCarty reported a civil dispute involving a Play Station 5 traded for an iPhone. The Officer advised McCarty to speak with a Civil Law Attorney.

11:29am: Justin Ladwig reported a theft of tools from a residence in the 600 block of West State Street. The Officer is investigating.

12:49pm: Lanny Lewis reported he was helping clean out a shed in the 400 block of North Oak Street. While doing so he found old shotgun shells needing to be disposed of. The shells were turned over to the Officer for disposal.

6:17pm: Krystal Davidson reported a house fire in the 500 block of West State Street. The Officer provided traffic control while the Jefferson Fire Department extinguished the fire.

10:04pm: Paulette Stampe reported harassment occurring by phone in the 100 block of East Central Street. Paulette requested no police action other than documentation. The Officer documented the information provided.

Saturday, September 16th

12:01am: An employee of the Wild Rose Casino reported a possibly intoxicated patron who had entered a vehicle in the parking lot. The Officer located the male in the parking lot. As a result of the investigation, Diego Corio Cobo of Minnesota was placed under arrest for “Public Intoxication” and “Open Container”

3:41am: Robert Gustin reported a suspicious person walking behind a residence in the 600 block of East Adams Street. The Officer located the person and found nothing illegal was occurring.

10:20am: Greene County Dispatch received several fraudulent 911 calls from juveniles coming from a residence in the 600 block of West Lincoln Way. The Officer located those making the calls and spoke with their parents. They were warned for the improper use of 911.

10:21am: Joyce Fister reported an issue with the drop box at Home State Bank. The Officer assisted with the issue.

1:28pm: Jeremy Labate reported an Opossum in his garage in the 500 block of West State Street. The Officer assisted Labate in chasing the animal out of the garage.

6:03pm: Kayla Nwobodo reported having caught what she believed to be a Rattle Snake in the 900 block of West South Street. The Officer advised her to contact pest control or the DNR.

6:19pm: Madison Knight reported an incident of assault. It was later found the assault had not occurred in Jefferson and she was referred to the proper jurisdiction.

8:05pm: An Officer assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of North Maple Street.

8:32pm: An Officer assisted a motorist having mechanical issues in the 500 block of West Lincoln Way.

10:22pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, James Coffey of Sun City, AZ, was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”

Sunday, September 17th

7:17pm: An anonymous male reported suspected illegal drug activity in the Sparky’s parking lot, 606 Highway 30 East. The Officer did not locate evidence of the reported activity.

8:45pm: Emily Hayes reported several vehicles being driven recklessly in the area of Westwood Drive. When the Officer arrived, the vehicles had already moved on.

10:43pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a medical call in the 300 block of Greenwood Drive.

10:45pm: Ramona Matthews requested assistance in locating a male who was to be returning a U-Haul to a Jefferson location. The Officer did not locate the male.

As a result of an investigation started on September 7, 2023, Warrants have been requested for Jennifer Brown of Jefferson and Kyann Brown of Jefferson for “Disorderly Conduct”
