The AC/GC Chargers volleyball squad played host for the ACGC Charger Invitational tournament on Saturday.

The team made it all the way to the championship game, where they lost their only match of the day. The team won 2-0 against West Central Valley, taking the games 21-13 and 21-10, then beat Exira-EHK 2-1, scoring 17-21, 21-19 and 15-9. The Chargers then beat Nodaway Valley 2-0 with scores of 22-20 and 21-19, and won 2-0 against Perry, scoring 21-7 and 21-13. AC/GC then played Glidden Ralston in the championship, and fell 1-2, scoring 21-12, 18-21 and 10-15.

Outside hitters freshman Stella Largent and senior Mersadez Richter were both named to the All Tournament Team for their efforts in the games, and senior middle hitter Jenna Rowley was named Athlete of the Week for the team. The Chargers will return to action Tuesday for Gray Out Night as they take on East Sac County on the road.
