A Perry man faces additional charges after being arrested on a warrant from an alleged previous crime.

According to court documents, the Perry Police Department was notified of an alleged wanted criminal hiding in a shed this past Monday at 624 Willis Avenue. The homeowner gave permission to police to enter the shed because they didn’t know who was in there. Officers found 26-year-old Anthony James Johnson Parnell, who was wanted on a previous crime on July 15th for two charges of a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance violation and an aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense for possession of marijuana resulting from a traffic stop.

Once officers located Parnell, the homeowner allowed them to search the shed and they recovered Parnell’s  book bag with a glass methamphetamine pipe, marijuana, a large fixed blade knife that had a blade longer than six inch, and a Co2 powered BB gun. Parnell also had in his possession a Black and Decker drill that was reported stolen.

Parnell was arrested and additionally charged with a Class C Felony for a controlled substance violation, a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance, two aggravated misdemeanors for third degree theft and his third or subsequent offense for possession of marijuana and a serious misdemeanor for person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons.

Parnell was booked into the Dallas County Jail with a $30,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
