Dallas Center-Grimes girls cross country team finish at the top of the standings at the Heartland Classic on Saturday.
The Mustangs finished second with 72 points and they finished behind the champions Millard West out of Nebraska. Freshman Piper Messerly took first place with a time of 18 minutes and 38 seconds. Junior Maddy Stevens placed seventh with a time of 19 minutes and 27 seconds, junior Emily Meyers finished tenth and sophomore Addison Dooley grabbed 17th place.
The Mustang boys cross country also performed and placed 9th out of 28 with 255 points. Senoir AJ Angus placed 25th and junior Elias Arbuckle finished 28th. Full results will be linked here.
DCG Cross Country boys team will be back on the course on September 21 at Pickard Park and the girls will runs at Kansas University at Rim Rock Farms on September 23rd.
