webb-house

A reminder that tomorrow is a student-led fundraiser to help with a large project for a non-profit organization in Jefferson.

The Webb House is having a garage sale from 8am-noon at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson and the organizer is eighth grader Kole Johnson-Peterson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio  the proceeds from the garage sale will be used to replace the deck on the Webb House, which is original to the building some 25 years ago.

Johnson-Peterson has been going to the Webb House for the past three years and he describes why he wanted to take on this kind of fundraising effort.

“For me the Webb House is just so important because it’s like (a) really wonderful place kids can go where they can stay out of trouble and everything’s free, and you just go and have a good time. I enjoy just hanging out with friends but especially I enjoy the outside games like gaga ball and dodgeball.”

The Webb House is open Wednesdays and Fridays for middle school-aged kids.
