Thursday, September 14th

2:03am: An officer located an Open Door in the 400 Block of East Head Street and secured the building.

7:48am: Mike Pruitt requested Extra Patrol at his rental property at 301 East Lincoln Way Street. He believes a former tenant is still entering the apartment, after moving away.

11:22am: The Greene County High School requested an officer at 1901 North Grimmell Road

to document a physical fight, which had occurred between two students. They

were not supportive of a criminal investigation, just documentation.

12:23pm: The Greene County Middle School requested officers at 101 Ram Drive after an Assault had occurred between two students. The officer documented the information and the school is handling the punishment.

1:08pm: Mary Norgart reported receiving a Scam Phone Call from a subject advising to work for Wells Fargo. The caller advised the bank had located an account in her name with $5800.00 in it. The caller needed her current account information to transfer the funds to her account. She recognized it as a scam and hung up without giving any information.

1:31pm: Matt Gordon reported a vehicle had lost control near Lincoln Way and Elm Streets and came to rest in the grass at the Community Center. The officer determined several steering components had broken and fallen from the vehicle. It was towed from the area a short time later.

3:14pm: Dispatch advised of an Open 911 Call from the area of the 500 Block of South Wilson Avenue. The officer spoke to construction workers in the area. One worker advised his phone had called 911 while in his pocket. All was fine.

3:53pm: Rich Burkhardt reported children cutting through his yard at 401 East McKinley, after getting off the school bus. Officers are watching the area after school to address the issue.

4:59pm: Officers investigated a Bike vs. Vehicle Accident at Adams and Elm Streets. A 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, owned and operated by Adam Smith of Jefferson, was eastbound on Adams. Smith stopped at the posted stop sign at Elm Street, behind the crosswalk. He looked both directions and proceeded to pull onto Elm Street. A bicycle, ridden by Richard Burkhardt, struck the front end of Smith’s vehicle. Burkhardt suffered minor injuries, but refused an Ambulance to check him out. Witnesses to the accident advise that Burkhardt entered the sidewalk from the parking lot at 300 North Elm Street and rode towards the truck fast. They advised that Burkhardt struck the side of the truck and began to curse at the driver. The truck had a reported $50.00 in damages. The bicycle was reported to not be damaged. No citations issued.

10:39pm: An officer located an Open Overhead Door at 1801 North Elm Street. The officer secured the building.
