The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has begun educating voters about their bond election that will occur in November.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe says they have already sent out a newsletter to their district residents. Dufoe explains that in this newsletter there were six pages devoted to the $58 million in General Obligation Bonds that will be up for vote to benefit the district. Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there will be four projects that these bonds will go towards with the biggest project being a new high school that will house 1,000 students.

“We’ll build that high school at the outset to open in fall of (2027) to hold 800 students. And then we would add on an addition to finalize the capacity total to 1000 students. A few years later, according to our plan.”

Dufoe mentions that they will also use these bonds to convert the DeSoto Intermediate School into a preschool center, make renovations to the Nile-Kinnick Campus along with improving their baseball and softball facilities. He notes that they will also provide more information before the election on November 7th.
