6:27am: A deputy assisted with a power line arcing near Orchard Avenue and 210th Street.

9:43am: A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 200 block of Anyer Street, Dana.

1:58pm: A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of East Herron Street, Grand Junction.

2:04pm: A deputy investigated a dog running at large complaint in the 1000 block of Eagle Street, Scranton.

2:45pm: The Sheriff and a deputy assisted with a child removal in Grand Junction.

5:48pm: A deputy investigated a driving complaint in the 100 block of West Percival Street, Rippey.

7:45pm: A deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle on State Street near Main Street, Scranton.

8:17pm: A deputy assisted the Greene County Ambulance in the 1700 blk of C Ave for a UTV that overturned.

Wednesday, September 13th

2:31am: A deputy received a complaint about trespassing in the 1900 blk of 210th Street.

4:46am: A deputy was advised of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 blk of N Avenue. The deputy spoke with the driver and arrested Karston Ausborn (22) of West Des Moines, IA for operating while intoxicated.

8:09am: Karston Ausborn (22) of West Des Moines was booked into the Greene County Jail. Karston was charged with Operating while intoxicated 2nd offense and possession of controlled substance- marijuana 1st offense.

10:36am: A deputy was advised of a scam phone call.

11:13am: A deputy performed a welfare check in the 800 blk of Percival Street in Grand Junction.

11:15am: A deputy was advised of a fire in the 1500 blk of W Ave. The deputy investigated and had the homeowner extinguish the fire.

4:47pm: A deputy was advised of an accident in the 700 blk of an alley that was located south of Sand Street in Churdan. Joyce Hoyle (89) was operating a blue 2018 Dodge Caravan when she struck two 500-gallon propane tanks. Joyce’s vehicle sustained $5,000 in damages. Churdan Fire and Rescue, Jefferson Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol assisted.

4:51pm: A deputy was advised of a dog bite in the 800 blk of Chicago Street in Scranton.

6:20pm: A deputy investigated an accident at the intersection of Sand Street and Fitzpatrick Street in Churdan. Larry Gilbertson (79) backed his blue 2002 Dodge Neon into a gray 2019 Dodge Charger that is owned by the State of Iowa (DPS). The Charger was parked. Larry’s vehicle sustained $1,000 in damages and the 2019 Charger sustained $2,000 in damages. 

6:33pm: A deputy was advised of a careless driver entering Greene County from Webster County on N Avenue.

7:19pm: A deputy checked the city dump in Churdan for dirt bikes riding. The deputy was unable to locate the dirt bikes.

Thursday, September 14th

12:00am: Alex Treft (32) was booked into the Greene County Jail. Alex was booked into jail to serve a sentence for driving while barred.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
