The public is invited to see a new area of the Greene County Medical Center.

Part of the second floor of the medical center has been converted into the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation area and there is an open house scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th from 2-4pm. Care Management Director Amy Sessions tells Raccoon Valley Radio that patients are usually referred to enroll in their rehabilitation program that varies for every patient which includes 12 to 36 one hour sessions with a team-based supervised exercise training, education and skills development to better manage cardiac and pulmonary diseases.

Sessions notes that this department needed a larger area to serve more people.

“Our goals are to improve availability and increase opportunities for the treatment of more clients. Earlier this year, the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation departments were relocated to a large, second floor space allowing us to incorporate a walking track for those clients who would like to choose walking for exercise over using a treadmill or a bike.”

During the open house, attendees can meet the Cardiac and Pulmonary teams, as well as take a tour of the new facility.
