The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center will have a few informational events coming up.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this coming Wednesday at noon, they will be hosting another Lunch and Learn.
“And this one is partnering with the Guthrie County Hospital, and they’re coming in to speak about diabetes basics. And a light lunch is served with that as well. And it’s free.”
Hawkins mentions that on September 16th, there will also be a Community Conversation. She adds that the conversation comes after the library and Friends of the Guthrie Center Library secured a grant from Libraries Transforming Communities Accessible Small and Rural Communities. Hawkins explains that they want to have community members come in and express their thoughts on things that could help make the library more accessible for those with mobility issues, hearing, visual and learning disabilities, and family members of those that may need extra help.
