Greene County ISU Extension is offering another class to preserve the taste of summer.

Fermenting Vegetables will take place at the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30pm. This class will teach beginners as well as advanced individuals how to ferment vegetables from your garden, including small batch remedies in mason jars. ISU Extension Human Sciences and Health Program Specialist Renee Sweers will lead the program and include the most up-to-date science and guidelines for vegetable fermentation. Each participant will also get to make and take a jar of sauerkraut to finish fermenting at home.

The cost for the class is $20 and there is a need-based scholarship available upon request. Contact the Greene County Extension Office at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
