November elections are only a little over a month away.
Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink says that residents of Guthrie County will have the opportunity to choose representatives for the area they live. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about what Guthrie Center residents should know about before voting on city representatives.
“So for Guthrie Center, in the city, they have one mayor seat, which is currently held by Mike Herbert. And then there’s three council seats, and those seats are currently held by Fidel Hernandez, Ian Steenson and Gerald Thomas. Anyone interested in running for those positions would need ten signatures from eligible electors within the city limits of Guthrie Center.”
Fink mentions that the Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School District is actually two districts, Adair – Casey and Guthrie Center. She shares about the open seats for the Guthrie Center district.
“For Guthrie Center School District, Guthrie County is the control county for them, so anyone interested in running for Guthrie Center School Board would need 20 signatures, and there’s three seats available that will be up, and those seats right now are being held by Mat Van Meter, Wanda Knobbe and Tim Benson.”
Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Adair – Casey district will have two seats up for election, currently filled by Randy Carney and Dallas Dinkla. She mentions that these positions are voted on at large, so that anyone interested in running for the seats would need 15 signatures from anyone living in the AC district.
