September is National Voter Registration Month and it’s a good reminder for anyone who might be eligible to sign up to vote.
Greene County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate encourage all eligible Iowans to register to vote. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, about 90-percent of eligible Iowans are registered to vote. Those who have not yet signed up can do so, as long as you are at least 17 years old. Those who are already registered should check that their information is current.
National Voter Registration Day is September 19th and you can go to the Greene County Auditor’s Office to learn more or to register to vote. The final day to pre-register before the November 7th city and school board elections is October 23rd. Contact the Greene County Auditor’s Office at 515-386-5680 from 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday or go to VoterReady.iowa.gov to register.
