The Jefferson Public Library recently celebrated the end of its final Summer Reading Program.
The Adult Summer Reading Program included 19 people that read a total of 287 books from June to August, under this year’s theme of “We Are All Tied Together.” The stories and books highlighted three primary subcategories including “Grow and Transform” with overcoming adversity, “Expand Our World” with diversity, cultures and nationalities; and “Good Reads/Good Deeds” with kindness, compassion and empathy. P
Each participant that completed the program earned an SRP themed t-shirt and a tie-dye goodie bag. Additionally, participants were also asked to do a community project by making a donation to the local food pantry, the Greene County Action Resource Center. At the final party that was held at the end of August, all of the donations were given to the ARC manager, Shirley Haupert.
