The Wildcats won their first game of the season on the gridiron on Friday night against the Shenandoah Mustangs, 27-19. The Wildcats had a solid start to the game and went into the locker room with a 21-7 lead. The Mustangs gave the Wildcats a little bit of a scare in the third quarter however as they put up 12 unanswered points, shutting out West Central Valley in that third quarter, cutting into the Wildcats lead. The score was then 21-19 and that is when West Central Valley put two more insurance field goals on the board to seal the win 27-19.
The win puts the Wildcats in the win column for the first time this season. They will look to make it two in a row as they travel to Red Oak next Friday night to take on the Red Oak Tigers at Russ Benda Field. Kickoff will be at 7 PM. I will provide more coverage of this matchup this upcoming week on K 107.9 and raccoonvalleyradio.com
