The Stuart Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for a fun redo of an event from last year.

Last September the Channel 13 crew from Des Moines stopped in Stuart the Thursday before the game between the Iowa State University Cyclones, and Iowa Hawkeyes. Chamber member Nate Westre tells Raccoon Valley Radio about what has been dubbed, “The Gridiron Gatherin.’”

“So really, it’s just an extension of last year’s RVTV that came with Channel 13. We had such a great turnout and great feedback from that event, we decided to do it essentially on our own without the Channel 13 guys this year.”

Westre says that there will be plenty of fun events, including a bags tournament and live music in front of Ruby’s Pub and Grill, ax throwing, several food vendors, a silent disco, and a Kid Zone, which will be in the parking lot next to The Country Niche. He mentions that the event will begin at 3pm and last until 10pm, and will have plenty of fun for everyone in attendance.
