The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn FFA Chapter sees an increase in participation numbers as the school year  takes off.

FFA Chapter Advisor MacKenzie Gettler says they’re excited about the 113 students that joined their program this year. Gettler mentions that their chapter was established nine years ago in 2015 and this is the largest class they’ve ever had. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what has caused this rise in enrollment.

It’s a lot to do with the success that we’ve had in our Chapter three contest and being involved in activities, etcetera. But also just the fact that there’s still that need and lots of kids, even in the kind of urban area that are still interested in agriculture. So that’s good news for the ag industry because there’s a lot of kids that have an interest in one of the pathways within agriculture.”
