A Greene County High School student recently received national attention for academics.
Senior Gavin Vander Linden earned the National Rural and Small Town Award from the College Board of National Recognition Program. This award honors students that work hard in the classroom and achieve academic excellence. Vander Linden scored in the top ten percent of students in Iowa on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), which gauges someone’s ability to take the regular SAT to get admitted to colleges and universities.
Greene County High School Counselor Allison Wenck says Vander Linden is a dedicated student that has worked hard throughout his high school career. She points out about 1.5 million students take the PSAT nationally and she is thrilled to see Vander Linden perform so well.
