The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board approved at their latest meeting to move forward with an election in November for $58 million in General Obligation Bonds.

ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe says that these general obligations will be used to pay for four major projects within the school district. He says those projects include a new high school, transforming DeSoto Intermediate into a preschool, improvements to the Nile-Kinnick Campus along with new athletic facilities for the baseball and softball teams. Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will now start informing voters about what they want to accomplish.

“Linchpin of our Bond campaign will be a lengthy newsletter that will come out sometime after Labor Day that will include several pages on the bond issue and the projects that are in that bond. And then we’ll have community meetings in (the) October meeting with civic groups, additional mailings that will take place up to the November 7th election, a website that will be comprehensive. So there are just a lot of ways that people can get information on this important topic.”

Dufoe notes if the general obligation bonds get passed in the November election they will execute their plans over the course of 10 years.
