The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School has a large number of students involved in marching band this year.

ADM Band Director Russel Braun says that he has 105 students enrolled in marching band which is the largest number of students he’s ever had. Braun explains that the number is so large that they’ve had to rearrange their band room to fit every student. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this is a good problem to have.

“It’s super exciting to see the band fill out. In fact, it’s gotten large enough now that we’ve actually had to take cabinets out of the room to make sure that we can fit everybody in here. So I’m really excited about that.”

Braun says that they have two drum majors including senior Sam Peters and junior Soila Winter. He explains their job is to be a leader during their practices and performances.

They really take pride in making sure that everybody knows what’s going on and answering questions and just being a service member to our group to improve our program.”

The ADM Marching Band will have a performance at every single home football game along with traveling to Urbandale, West Des Moines, Waukee and Fort Dodge this year.
