A Woodward man was recently found guilty for drug possession in Greene County.
According to court documents, a jury found 47-year-old Thomas Caldwell guilty of possession of methamphetamine. Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn says the trial lasted two days before the guilty verdict was announced.
The trial stemmed from an incident on November 2, 2021. Court documents show Caldwell dropped a baggie with a crystallized substance on the floor of Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. Video surveillance confirmed that the baggie came from Caldwell and the baggie was submitted to the Criminalistics Laboratory, and the results were positive for methamphetamine.
Because the jury found Caldwell guilty of possession of methamphetamine, he is now scheduled to be sentenced in October and faces up to 15 years in prison for the Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine, habitual offender.
