Senior Gabe Ebersole is a Team Captain and member of the Leadership Team for Greene County football. He also is the quarterback and punter, and he even intercepted a pass while playing defensive back vs. Carroll High last Friday in the season opening 20-0 loss.

The Rams had 213 yards of total offense with Ebersole at the forefront with 104 passing yards and 88 more through the air. Perhaps the most impressive of all was his punting with boots of 62 and 59 yards. He averaged more than 43 yards per punt on five attempts.

Ebersole and the Rams will try to improve the offensive numbers on Friday when the Perry Blue Jays visit Linduska Field in the renewal of the Cowbell Series. The Rotary Clubs from Jefferson and Perry donated a cowbell in 1928 and the bell resides with the winning team until the game the following season. The Rams have won five straight in the Cowbell Series and hold a 61-29-2 advantage. Friday’s game can be heard on KGRA 98.9 FM, 1310 AM KDLS, and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7 o’clock.
