The Perry Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements are currently underway, and there will be another project added on to the perimeter of the facility.
Perry Public Works Director Josh Wuebker says that the Council recently approved the installation of a fence for the Wastewater Treatment Facility to better improve the security and usage of the area. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this fence will also connect the recycling center to prevent people from illegally dumping at the yard waste pile.
“So there will be an automatic gate at the wastewater entrance and then an automatic gate at the recycling center. And they’re kind of divided there by the animal holding facility out there. So the fence will kind of tie everything in together, but still separate everything.”
Wuebker says the wastewater treatment facility has hit a snag in its construction and the project is roughly about nine months behind schedule due to a backlog of equipment.
