In the August School Board meeting for Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Schools, the bid for a major project was awarded.

AC/GC Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that the Adair – Casey School Board awarded the bid for the junior high bleacher project to Larsen Construction out of Independence, Iowa. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they felt the project was needed.

“Those bleachers have served their purpose for a long time. They are wooden bleachers that are deteriorating and they need to be updated. So that project hopefully gets started this fall or next spring, summer.”

Rasmussen says that Larsen Construction’s bid of $299,925 was awarded because it was the closest to the district’s engineering estimate. He adds that the company will be replacing the bleachers entirely, and that in the contract it had been agreed upon that the bleachers should be completed by the start of the 2024 junior high football season.
