With the new school year underway for the Greene County School District, fans might have already seen a change to how they can get into activities.

Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright says the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and district football have moved to a cashless system for gate admission. He talks about why the conference pushed for this change.

“There’s a couple of reasons, I think, number one – for our administration and accounting purposes it’s a lot cleaner for the business office. We don’t have as many people handling cash, and that helps out as well. Right or wrong, good or bad, that’s kind of the way our society has moved that a lot of people like to use credit.”

Wright notes there are two ways to get tickets to activities, including online purchases through the website Bound on the school district’s web page or with a credit or debit card at the gate. He adds that this is just for conference-related activities and football. Concession stands will still accept cash.
