The Perry Jayettes opened their 2023 season in the pool on Thursday against Algona. Overall it was a pretty successful first meet for the Jayettes. I will have official results more next week. Perry swimming coach Jean Dowd said each individual swimmer supporting one another is key to being successful.

“I really don’t need to tell them that because this team is really good already at supporting their teammates in the water. That kind of positive attitude with their teammates, it helps everybody out. Not just the kids who are thinking positive thoughts but the team as a whole. If there is somebody that is trying an event for the first time that might be a little nervous, that positive energy  is really going to help them,” Dowd said.

The girls will take on Indianola at the Indianola YMCA this upcoming week on Tuesday night. The meet will start at 5:30.
