The Warren Cultural Center is hosting their “The Underground” event this weekend.

Board member Thaddeus Hawley says that four metal bands will be performing in the basement of the opera house. He explains that after being asked about bringing in some performers in genres that don’t usually appear at WCC and discussing with the rest of the Board, “The Undergrounds” is what was decided on. The bands include, “More Cheese,” “Mutually Assured Destruction,” “Mourning Veil,” and a Greenfield local band, “Gravis Somnia” will be performing from 7-11pm August 26th.

Hawley mentions this is an all ages event, with a $5 admission price, and beer will be available to purchase for those that have their ID with them. Those aged 12 and under must have an adult accompanying them. Hawley explains that should this event continue, the WCC would be looking to expand the genres they highlight in the performances, and want to try and bring in bands from Omaha to Des Moines.
