The City of Dexter has put together several activities for their three day town festival that is approaching. 

“Dexter Fest, ”will kick off Friday at 5pm in the Roundhouse (community house) with the community dinner that will serve hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, a drink and a cookie. Then they will announce the “Little Miss and Mr. Dexter,” “Citizen of the Year,” and pie contest winners. The night will close with a showing of “Air Bud: The Golden Retriever,” at 9:30pm on the Roundhouse lawn. 

On Saturday, the events will get started at 8am with the 5K run and walk, and registration will take place at the Dexter City Park. The parade will take off on Washington Street at 11am. Pork loin sandwiches will be served at the American Legion building at noon, and also there will be water fights on Polk Street. In the afternoon, a cribbage tournament at 1pm in the American Legion Building, games at the park until 3:30pm and a car show that starts at 2pm on State Street. The day will close with a bags tournament at 3pm and live music at the Roundhouse from 9pm until midnight. On Sunday, there will be a softball tournament at the elementary school at 9am, but teams will need to pre register and there will be a breakfast at 10am at the community church.
