Dallas Center-Grimes’ Meg Jackson will enter year two as the head volleyball coach, and she wants to build off last year’s season.

In the 2022 season, The Mustang volleyball team finished with a winning record and lost in the region four championship game. Jackson says that the feeling of losing a region championship game has stuck with the players that have returned which has been an added motivation this season.

That regional final loss stings a lot, and so they’re hungry and we are. And so we’ve done a lot of work in the off season on mental stuff and physical stuff. And so they don’t want that again.”

Jackson adds that going into her second year as being the head coach of the Dallas Center-Grimes volleyball team will be a benefit

So, you know, navigating through some things last year and then just making improvements, knowing what we need to do to be better and a little bit more efficient with the program.”

The Mustang volleyball team will start their regular season at 5pm tonight for Mustang Invitational at the Oak View Gym in Grimes against Mason City.
