Aug. 18

Zachary Sanderson, New Virginia, was driving west bound on I80 near the 104 mile marker, when he attempted to change lanes.  Not seeing a vehicle in his blind spot, he swerved back and lost control, striking guide wire post and knocking them down.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $4000.  A citation was issued for Failure To Provide Proof Of Financial Liability.

Aug. 19

Rashawn Melvin, age 23, 7305 Oliver Smith Dr, Urbandale, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was a Violation Of Probation.

Maronde Swedi, age 25, 1444 4th St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.

Michael Whiddon, age 52, 4465 NE 26th St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.

Grabiel Garcia, age 42, 4115 S. 77th, Omaha, NE, was arrested on 4 warrants for Failure To Appear.  Two warrant for Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and two warrants for Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.

Gustav Schories, Stuart, was driving on I80 near the 104 mile marker, when he left the roadway and rolled his truck into the ditch.  Mr. Schories refused medical attention.  He was left in the care of his sister, who was going to take him to be evaluated. Damage to Mr. Schories’ truck was estimated at $15000.  Damage to DOT cable barriers was estimated at $1000.

Cory Dowdell, Creston, was driving on I80 near the 116 mile marker, when he hit a deer.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $2500.  Mr. Dowdell was going to have the vehicle towed at a later time.

Aug. 20

Ramon Melara-Cerna, age 32, 2020 Evelyn St, Perry, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence, Child Endangerment, Dominion /Control Of Firearm By Felon and Possession Or Carrying Of Dangerous Weapons While Intoxicated.

Shaun Strifler, age 52, 713 Marshall St, Dexter, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Aug. 21

Burdette Kelsey III, age 33, 1334 32nd St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Violation Of Probation.
