A Carroll woman was recently sentenced to probation for an incident in Jefferson.
According to court documents, 50-year-old Angela Robbins pled guilty to a Class D Felony for passing a winning wager to another person. She was sentenced to two years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The charge stemmed from an incident on February 2nd at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. Forty-seven-year-old Nathan Martin of Carroll won a jackpot on a slot machine for $2,007. Court documents show Martin got up from the machine to call someone on his cellphone and Robbins was then sitting in front of the machine to claim the jackpot. Video surveillance was reviewed and Martin won the jackpot.
Robbins was also ordered to pay over $1,600 in civil penalties and a probation fee.
