2023 winner "Reaching" by Drew Evans-Arcenas of Marion, Iowa

After the people spoke, the 2023 Ring Out for Art winner was recently announced.

Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the sculpture is called, “Reaching” and it is the female form made from polished nuts. The sculpture is by Drew Evans-Arcenes of Marion, Iowa. Wetrich points out that the winning sculpture was a fan favorite.

“When we had RAGBRAI come through it was a fun photo-op. We saw a lot of folks taking photos with her, even just random visitors too. So that was our big winner, we’re really excited about that.”  

Evans-Arcenes also receives $500 for being the winner and the sculpture will remain on the Greene County Courthouse grounds until next April.
