Two people died following a single vehicle crash on Thursday night in Dallas County. 

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 11:30pm on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 111 near DeSoto when a semi-truck slammed into a concrete barrier. The crash caused the truck’s fuel tank to rupture and catch fire. The DeSoto Fire and Police Departments also initially responded. Once the fire was extinguished, two occupants of the vehicle were found inside and pronounced dead at the scene. The  names of the two deceased individuals are being withheld pending identification and notification. The investigation is still ongoing with the Iowa State Patrol. 

The Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Transportation, and the Adel, Earlham and Van Meter Fire Departments, also responded to the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
