The new school year is fast approaching.

Adair – Casey Elementary and Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Junior High Principal Ed Den Beste has been preparing for the new school year by making sure the daily schedules are finalize, checking with teachers to make sure they’re ready for the school year to start, and making sure that some of the initiatives that teachers and staff had last year like Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and their management system are in place and understandable. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he wants to focus on as students return to classes.

“My biggest thing is I just want to get to know the people here, get to know the students as well. And I think that’s a really great opportunity. And with school starting next week, it’s a great time for me to be able to start meeting some people and getting to know faces.”

Den Beste emphasizes that he wants teachers and staff to be comfortable talking to administration, and seeing what else is coming up during the year by looking at projections. He adds that the teachers that he’s met over the summer have been more than welcoming, and that he’s excited to get to work with everyone for the new school year.
