The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center FFA Chapter is getting ready to start a brand new fun event.

The first annual Charger Car Show and Pork BBQ Contest will take place at the AC/GC High School on August 27th. Registrations will begin at 8:30am, with the show to be from 9:30am to 2pm. Judging starts at noon, and the awards will be announced at 2pm. Pre-entry registration is $20, and entry on the day of the event is $25. The car show is open to all makes and models, with a trophy to go to the winner of each class.

Cooking for the BBQ contest will take place during the morning, and judging will be from 11:30am to 1pm. There are three main dish categories, which covers pork loins, butts and ribs. Competitors must register as teams of three to four people, with a registration fee of $125, which covers the price for meat and prizes for every class. There is also an optional side dish category, but supplies must be provided by the contestants. Slots are still open for both events, though spots in the BBQ contest are limited, and entry will close the evening of August 19th.
