The Iowa Transportation Commission recently approved $8.8 million for the fiscal year 2024 State Aviation Program, which includes a subprogram funding a local project.

The Airport Improvement Program or AIP  is funded through the State Aviation Fund for aviation safety, planning, and airport development projects throughout Iowa. Projects funded through the AIP include runway, taxiway, apron development, fuel systems and wildlife hazards at airports, among others. The AIP will provide 3.5 million dollars of funding for airport development projects at 17 airports in Iowa.

The Perry Municipal Airport was awarded $300,000 to expand their terminal building. The program is funded with revenue from aircraft registration fees and aviation fuel taxes.
