The Perry Fire Department will hold an easy dinner for families for a good benefit.

They will hold a grab and go supper from 5 to 6:30pm on Friday in the parking lot of the fire station. They will serve a hot dog meal for $5, cheeseburger or pork loin sandwich meal for $6 or a steak sandwich for $10. All meals come with a drink and chips. Fire Chief Grason Hill says they just received their new rescue truck, and now they will be fundraising for air packs. Hill explains that an air pack is what they wear anytime they are entering a structure fire or surrounded by smoke. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they encourage the community to come out and support their local firefighters.

We have such a good group of people that are willing to go out any time of day or night to fight these fires or rescue calls or whatever it might be. And it just equipment has gotten so expensive for volunteer fire departments or even paid fire departments that we need all the support we can get to help sustain our fire department for our community and everything.”

Hill notes that they’re going to continue holding these fundraisers monthly.
