Adair – Casey Elementary and Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Junior High has a new principal, who has been working diligently this summer.

Ed Den Beste has been in education since 1996, and will be conducting his first year as a principal in the AC/GC district, after working in the Atlantic Community School District. He says that when the position opened up, he decided it was a perfect opportunity, as he had previous ties to the area, lived nearby, and knows AC/GC Superintendent Josh Rasmussen. Den Beste tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he wants community members to know as the school year gets started.

“I just want them to know how excited I am to be part of this community, excited I am to see them come to school and to see the things that they are able to accomplish throughout the school year. I think it’s a unique situation that the school provides, in that we’ve got Pre-K all the way up through 8th Grade. So we’ve got the young ones all the way up to the middle school kids.”

Den Beste says he’s looking forward to working with the teachers and staff at the AC Elementary building, and has been working to make sure that he’s prepared for the start of the year.
