The West Central Valley Wildcats football team will have their upcoming Gatorade scrimmage this Friday, August 18th against the Madrid Tigers, at Madrid High School. Before they kick off their 2023 season, several players will look to take what they learned in the 34-3 loss against Woodward-Granger in the postseason last year and use that as fuel going forward this year. Head coach Jim Lindsay said certain guys having experience now in the postseason will help them try to get back to the position this year.

“When we played this last game this past year, I think everyone was kind of nervous and things like that. What happened now is that they guys that have returned and played in that game, or even just suited for that game, they kind of have been there, done that. So it shouldn’t be anything new. That is the biggest take away from this year that we have from that game,” said Lindsay.

The season officially begins August 25th for the Wildcats where they will take on their conference rival, the Panorama Panthers at West Central Valley high school. They will then play Shenandoah and Red Oak in Weeks 2 and 3. I will have updates as we get ready to kick off the season here in a couple weeks on K 1079 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
