Were now close to 2 weeks away from the start of the 2023 football season for the Perry Bluejays. It was a rough one last year for Perry as they finished the year 1-8. But that was with a different coach. It’s a new era now for Perry football under new head coach Tyler Hovey as they will look to show improvements after their season last year. Hovey said doing the little things right is something he can’t stress enough for Perry this upcoming season.
“I’ve shared with our players. There’s no magic answer, there’s no silver bullet. It’s a bunch of little things that all add up to the end goal so we just talked about doing all the little things right or doing as many little things better as we can. That will carry over and the scoreboard will take care of itself, if we do our job well,” Hovey said.
Perry will take on Woodward-Granger this upcoming Friday at Perry High School in their Gatorade Scrimmage. They will begin their season at home against Des Moines Hoover on August 25th. I will provide much more coverage of Perry football the next couple weeks as we kick off the season right here on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
