The Farm Bill is a hot discussion topic, and those discussing it include some of the Presidential candidates.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis admits to Raccoon Valley Radio that he doesn’t know much about the ins and outs of the current farm bill, but that he does see it and agriculture as a vital piece for the nation.
“But at the end of the day, I view the viability and the success of agriculture, not just here in Iowa, but throughout the country, as important for family farming tradition. It’s important for jobs, it’s important for the economy, but it’s also important for our national security. I mean, we have to have a stable food supply.”
DeSantis mentions that with the ag industry being such a large part of Iowa, and the state producing so many products, the importance of the bill is heavily evident to residents of the state. He adds that one of his priorities should he be elected would be to make sure that farmers get the things they need to help them do what they need to, and what the nation relies on them for.
