Today marks the first day f full contact for Greene County High School football players. The Iowa High School Athletic Association allowed full pads and contact on Saturday for the first time, but the Rams did not practice on Saturday. Head coach Caden Duncan and his coaching staff will have three contact practices today, tomorrow, and Wednesday, before having a light practice on Thursday before Friday’s scrimmage with Ogden. The Rams and Bulldogs will hold a controlled scrimmage at Linduska Field in Jefferson at 7 p.m. Friday with admission being a sports drink of some type.
Greene County will be seeking its sixth straight winning season in varsity football. The Rams return all but three starters from a season ago when they went 5-0 in Class 2A District 8 to win their second straight district title and were 8-2 overall, advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
