With the general election a little over a year away, many presidential candidates have made their way to Iowa.

One candidate has even shown interest in the state’s governor. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis previously stated that he would be open to having Kim Reynolds as his vice presidential running mate, and in a recent interview with Raccoon Valley Radio, doubled down on the sentiment. He mentions he sees her as one of the best governors in the country, and shares why he believes that.

“And I know these things, being Governor of Florida. Because I’m the state, when people are not treated well in Illinois, or New York or California, they usually flee to my state and they talk about how bad it is.”

DeSantis says he’s found this isn’t the case for Iowans.

“When I’m in say, southwest Florida in the winter and I run into Iowans who are down there, they’re very happy about what’s going on in their state, they’re proud to be Iowans.”

DeSantis tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he accredits much of that to Governor Reynolds, and that he believes she’d be a great fit for many of the administrative positions that work with the president, should she be interested in serving in one of them.
