With camp now in the books for the Perry Bluejays last week, new Perry head football coach Tyler Hovey talked about some of the drills and techniques he thinks his team can take moving forward going into the 2023 season. He said camp is time to work out some of the kinks before beginning the season.
“So in camp, we tried to install some of our base drills. Some tackling drills, some blocking drills that we will use throughout the entire season. We are really using camp as a time to work out some of the efficiency kinks. The coaching staff as we are helping players understand what we are expecting in certain drills. That way when we start rolling into practice here today, we can just have a more efficient practice and a more efficient practice that equates to more reps for each individual. It’s a more focused time for them just to get better,” said Hovey.
Practice has begun this week for the Bluejays. I will keep you updated on everything Bluejays on the gridiron right here on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
