A Jefferson man was arrested following an alleged domestic abuse incident.
According to court documents, a Jefferson Police Officer responded to a call of a possible break in at 4:21am Tuesday morning at a home in the 700 block of West Harrison Street. While en route, the officer spotted the two possible suspects walking. As the officer was talking with the two individuals, one of them said their significant other, 24-year-old Kyle Rysavy, was talking to them at his residence in the 700 block of West Harrison Street, when Rysavy’s mood changed. The victim claimed Rysavy placed his arm on her throat and his other hand on her mouth which made it hard to breathe.
The officer then went to Rysavy’s home and he said the two women were antagonizing him and he admitted to placing his hands near the victim’s mouth but that he never choked her. As the officer was going to arrest Rysavy, court documents show that he started running through the house and went into a bathroom. The officer drew his taser when Rysavy didn’t come out of the bathroom and then he did peacefully.
Rysavy was charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Abuse Assault-Impeding Air/Blood Flow and he was booked into the Greene County Jail. A no contact order has been placed between Rysavy and the victim. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
