The Raccoon River Valley Trail will be closed from Redfield to Linden starting next week. 

The portion of the trail will have some maintenance work done on it  beginning on August 7th until further notice. Outreach Coordinator Sarah McKeever says this will be a complete revamp to the section of the trail.

“So we’re going to start with the bridges. The Mosquito Creek Bridge is going to extend farther to the south and we’re widening all the bridges. If you’ve ridden this section, you know, those bridges are kind of in need of repair. So we are completely replacing those. And the next stage will be tearing up all of the asphalt on the trail and replacing it with concrete.”

The Redfield Depot will remain open during the closure. The project is estimated to be completed next summer.
